A global education platform binding thousands of universities under one network. The network will streamline credit transfers between universities and truly decentralize the degree. Education will be available to those who seek it with just a computer and an internet connection. Lack of access to quality
education, especially among the poorest and among girls, is preventing millions of people from escaping the cycle of extreme poverty around the world. Today, education remains an inaccessible right for millions of people around the world. More than 72 million children of primary education age are not in school and 759 million adults are
illiterate and do not have the awareness necessary to improve both their living conditions and those of their children.

Flawed education system

Being the ‘wrong’ gender, having no teacher, or having an untrained teacher, not enough classroom, a lack of learning materials, the exclusion of children with disabilities, living in a country in conflict or at risk of conflict, distance from home to school, these are some of the problems students face around the world.  Online classes provided by accredited universities by can be a solution to all these problems. Access to education should be a human right and problems because of the education system should not be a barrier to students. The world should be a fair and equal place for everyone.

Financial Barriers

Education is a trillion dollar industry and because of centralized diplomas, the cost of education is becoming unreasonable by the day.  A global network of universities will drastically lower the cost of getting a degree for the students of the first world country. Project Illumine also plans to reserve a portion of the company to award scholarships to extraordinary and underprivileged students from under-developed countries and help them achieve their dreams. Education shouldn't be a privilege and we have to make sure financial barriers doesn't stop someone from obtaining knowledge.

Authenticity and Employment

It is estimated that fake degree sales easily exceeded the billion dollar mark in just a decade. This is just not a problem for the education sector but also for the recruitment sector. Project Illumine tackles this problem by having students make a profile which will hold all the information and a virtual transcript containing the classes they take on the platform using blockchain. This will help to streamline the transfer process and also provide absolute transparency as faking certificates or scores will be practically impossible. It is estimated that the global recruitment market is worth over $200 billion and it loses billions because of hiring under qualified prospects who provide fake information. The student profile will work like a LinkedIn account with all your information and the student will be notified when someones view their profile. Using smart incentives we can turn this into a hiring platform as well.
